2003/052 01:00:59 – 01:01:07 Real-time MOD_FR_MODE(‘DAY’) Sets formatter rate to DAY for lunar calibration
2003/052 01:01:24 – 01:02:05 Real-time MOD_SCI_ABNORM(‘ABNORM’) Sets science abnormal flag for upcoming sector rotation and DR turn off
2003/052 01:02:20 – 01:03:07 Real-time MOD_DC_RESTORE(‘OFF’,’OFF’) Turns off PV and PC DC Restore
2003/052 01:03:18 – 01:03:56 Real-time MOD_FR_DELTA(-3072) Sets sector rotation to –3072 for earth view sector rotated to the space view port
2003/052 01:08:53 – 01:09:23 Real-time MOD_FR_MODE(‘DAY’) Sets formatter rate to DAY for lunar calibration This was set a second time because a command in the ATC load set the formatter to night rate at 01:03:07.
2003/052 01:14:56 – 01:15:34 Real-time MOD_FR_DELTA(0) Sets sector rotation nominal value of zero
2003/052 01:15:45 – 01:16:30 Real-time MOD_DC_RESTORE(‘ON’,’ON’) Turns on PV and PC DC Restore
2003/052 01:16:40 – 01:17:17 Real-time MOD_SCI_ABNORM(‘NORM’) Clears the science abnormal flag
2003/052 01:17:27 – 01:18:04 Real-time MOD_FR_MODE(‘NIGHT’) Sets formatter to NIGHT rate at the conclusion of the lunar calibration

This Week’s Scheduled MODIS Activities Not Completed:

The MODIS lunar calibration activities are typically scheduled using ATC stored commands. Due to inclement weather at Goddard, the MODIS stored command activities did not make it into the schedule. The lunar calibration was completed using real-time commanding instead.

Upcoming MODIS Events:

Tuesday, February 25, 2003

2003/056 13:46:00 - 13:48:31 ATC MOD_OA27_PV_ECAL.3

At approximately 15:00 - 16:00 GMT, the Solar Diffuser door will be opened to the screened position, the SDSM will be powered on the A-side, and the SDSM mirror will be stepped to the Sun position. This will begin a 2-day continuous SD calibration.

Thursday, February 27, 2003

2003/058 17:32:44 - 17:45:55 ATC MOD_OA16_SD_SCREEN_FXD_SUN_A.1
2003/058 19:11:37 - 19:24:48 ATC MOD_OA15_SD_OPEN_FIXED_SD_A.1

Maneuvers:

The next Terra Drag Make-up Maneuver is being planned for March 6th, 2003 at approximately 19:17 GMT.

The Terra Deep Space Calibration Maneuvers are now being planned for March 26th, 2003 (without the moon in the instruments fields of view) and April 14th, 2003 (with the moon in the spacecraft orbit plane). Details of these maneuvers will be provided closer to the event dates.

MODIS Anomalies:

None.

General Instrument Comments:

MODIS is in Science Mode, using all A-side components, but cross-strapped to Formatter B, with the blackbody maintained at 290K.

MODIS Telemetry Trends:

Nominal telemetry tracking is taking place. The intermediate stage radiative cooler temperature that had been increasing has now leveled off. The cooler temperatures and focal plane heater power will continue to be monitored with the expected solar beta angle changes.

Non-MODIS Significant Events:

The EMOS mission status webpage (which includes instrument data loss records) can be found at the following URL. Note that a password is now required to access the EOS mission links web pages. There are directions at the URL below for how to obtain a username/password.
